How to set up and use the Call screening feature on your Samsung Galaxy S26
The Call screening feature with AI assistant transforms the way you handle incoming calls on your Samsung Galaxy phone. Instead of answering unknown numbers, your device can respond on your behalf using an AI-generated voice, ask who is calling and why, and display the conversation in real time. You can also reply without speaking by typing a message that the AI will read aloud to the caller. This intelligent layer of call management helps you stay in control, reduce interruptions, and decide how to respond without ever picking up the phone.
Important: This feature is a Samsung-exclusive technology and is only available when using the pre-installed Samsung Phone app. If you are using a different phone app, such as a third-party dialer, the Call screening feature will not be available.
How to activate Call screening
Call screening automatically plays a voice greeting to the caller when a call comes in and records what the caller says.
Step 1. Tap Phone app.
Step 2. Tap More options icon.
Step 3. Select Settings.
Step 4. Select Call screening.
Step 5. Select your Language.
Step 6. Turn on Call screening switch.
How to activate Auto screen calls
When Auto screen calls is turned on, suspected spam, phishing, or unknown calls are screened automatically.
Step 1. Tap Phone app.
Step 2. Tap More options icon.
Step 3. Select Settings.
Step 4. Select Call screening.
Step 5. Select Auto screen calls.
Step 6. Turn on Auto screen calls and select types of calls you want to screen.
How to answer the phone with Call screening
When a call comes in, tap Call assist. The assistant will answer for you to find out who's calling and why. Once you see the caller's info, you can choose to take over the call yourself.
Step 1. When the call comes in, tap Call assist button.
Step 2. Tap Call screening button.
Step 3. Check the caller's name and the purpose of the call, then tap Call icon to start the call.
How to use Text call
After checking the caller's name and purpose through Call assist, you can use Text call to have the AI speak on your behalf if you're unable to take the call yourself.
Step 1. When the call comes in, tap Call assist button.
Step 2. Tap Call screening button.
Step 3. Check the caller's name and the purpose of the call, then tap Text call button.
Step 4. Enter your message and continue the conversation using the AI voice.
Step 5. After using Text call, you can switch to a voice call or end the call.
How to check call details after a call
After the call ends, you can view the conversation in Call assistant from Recents.
Step 1. Tap Phone app.
Step 2. Tap Recents.
Step 3. Select phone number.
Step 4. Tap Text call icon.
Note:
