Connecting the Samsung Music Frame to a TV

The Samsung Music Frame can be connected to a compatible TV to function as an external speaker, enhancing your overall audio experience. Stream sound directly from the TV to the Music Frame, delivering clearer and more immersive audio. There are multiple ways to connects so found out how to do so through the below instructions. 

Pre-connection Checklist:

  • Make sure that the content supports Dolby Atmos®.
  • Wi-Fi connection is available only on Samsung TV. 
  • Check whether the wireless router (Wi-Fi) is turned on and the TV is connected to the router. 
  • The TV and Music Frame must be connected to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi). 
  • If your wireless router (Wi-Fi) uses a DFS channel, you will not be able to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the TV and Music Frame. Contact your Internet service provider for details. 
  • Because the menus may differ depending on the year of manufacture, refer to your TV manual.
  • Change the input source of the TV by using the Audio menu to Music Frame. For Samsung TVs released in 2017 or later: Sound → Sound Output → Music Frame (Wi-Fi).
1 Connect the Music Frame and TV to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi).
2 Navigate to the 'Sound Output' setting of the TV, and select "Music Frame (Wi-Fi)".

3 TV sound will output from the Music Frame.

Note: 

  •  When you use Dolby Atmos®: If the input source is Dolby Atmos®, output source will need to be 2.0 ch. 
  • Configuring Dolby Atmos® on your Blu-Ray (BD) player or other device connected to the TV. Open the audio output options on the settings menu of your Blu-Ray (BD) player or other device and make sure that “No Encoding” is selected for Bitstream. For example, on a Samsung Blu-Ray (BD) Player, go to Home Menu → Sound → Digital Output and then select Bitstream (unprocessed). 
  • This function is available in some Samsung TVs.
  •  

Pre-connection Checklist:

  • The Q-Symphony Function is available on selected Samsung TV model. To check to see which models have this function, access this link here.
  • Wi-Fi connection is available only on Samsung TV. 
  • Check whether the wireless router (Wi-Fi) is turned on and the TV is connected to the router. 
  • The TV and Music Frame must be connected to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi). 
  • If your wireless router (Wi-Fi) uses a DFS channel, you will not be able to establish a Wi-Fi connection between the TV and Music Frame. Contact your Internet service provider for details.

1 Connect the Music Frame and TV to the same wireless network (Wi-Fi).
2 Navigate to the Sound settings and select "Q-Symphony Setup".

3 Choose "Music Frame" from the list to sync with your TV speakers and then "Apply".

4 TV sound will output from the Music Frame.

Note: 

  • It can operate according to the Codec supported by TV. 
  • This function is supported only when both the Music Frame and the TV are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.

 

Pre-connection Checklist:

  • Only one Samsung TV can be connected at a time.
  • Samsung TV that supports Bluetooth can be connected. Check the specifications of your TV.
1 Hold down the mic setting icon (Mic On/Off) button for 3 secs to enter Bluetooth pairing mode. The Multicolour LED will blink RedGreenBlue in turn and the announcement, “Ready to connect via Bluetooth” will come from the output speaker.

2 Select "Bluetooth Speaker List" in the Sound Output settings of the Samsung TV.

3 When device is detected, select “Music Frame” from the list on TV’s screen to connect. The Multicolour LED will then blink Cyan 3 times to notify connection is completed.
4 You will hear Samsung TV sound from the Music Frame.

Note: 

  • Locate a new device within 1 m to connect via Bluetooth communication. 
  • If asked for a PIN code when connecting a Bluetooth device, enter <0000>.
  • The Music Frame automatically turns off after  18 minutes in the Ready state. 
  • Electronic devices may cause radio interference. Devices that generate electromagnetic waves must be kept away from the Music Frame main unit - e.g., microwaves, wireless LAN devices, etc.
  • The Music Frame may not perform Bluetooth search or connection correctly under the following circumstances:
    •  If there is a strong electrical field around the Music Frame.
    • If several Bluetooth devices are simultaneously paired with the Music Frame. 
    • If the Bluetooth device is turned off, not in place, or malfunctions. 

Pre-connection Checklist:

When you use an optical cable and the terminals have covers, be sure to remove the covers.

1 With the TV and Music Frame turned off, connect the D.IN (OPTICAL) port on the Music Frame and the OPTICAL output port on the TV with the optical cable (not supplied), as shown in the figure below.

2 Turn on the Music Frame and TV.
3 Press the mic setting icon (Multi Function) button on the Music Frame until it is set to 'Digital Audio In' mode. The output speaker will announce "Digital Audio In" when mode is selected.
